I'm thrilled to announce that I have been invited to take part in the Ways of Seeing: Women & Photography in Scotland exhibition.

I will be exhibiting the 'Nocturnal' series alongside a number of extremely talented photographers. I'm so fortunate to be given this opportunity - to be a part of this show, exhibiting in the iconic buildings of Glasgow and with an amazing selection of photographers - it's such an honour.

The first exhibition will launch as part of National Trust for Scotland’s Second Morton Photography Symposium. The exhibition will be held at the Glasgow Women's Library from 29th October to 19th November 2020.

The second exhibition will take place at the Tenement House in Glasgow from 1st November to 31st December 2020.

Let’s start with the basics - what is a copywriter?

A copywriter writes text - or copy - for the purpose of marketing and advertising. They create copy in order to inform an audience of their product or service and increase brand awareness, with the aim of persuading people to take a desired action set out by the client.

Businesses or startups may hire a copywriter for slogans, product descript

ions, newsletters, the list is endless. Here are just a few reasons why you should hire a copywriter.

Creating interesting and informative web content

Congratulations! You have website traffic, that’s always half the battle. But what now? You want your visitors to hang around and take a look at what you’ve got on offer. Of course, you want to have an aesthetically pleasing website that’s easy to navigate (that’s why you hire a web-designer) but you also need some information about your product or service. That’s where a copywriter comes in.

Your visitors want to know what it is you’re offering them, so the content has to be informative - from the home page all the way to the about page - and anything in between.

More than just offering your visitors some information, you need to make it interesting to read. The average visitor only stays on a webpage for less than 15 seconds. A copywriter’s job is to put together some informative, SEO-friendly web content with some pazazz, enticing a visitor to stay around a little longer.

Translating copy (or is it transcreation?)

Translation is becoming increasingly more essential for businesses, especially ones that choose to expand globally. It’s all well and good translating copy from one language to the next, but what if the message becomes lost in translation?

Your brand campaign that you and your marketing team have worked tirelessly on is vital in promoting your business. Transcreation is the act of translating a piece of text and altering the content to ensure it reads well and the message stays on brand. Furthermore, a simple translation of text doesn’t take into account different cultures or colloquial terms. What may work in one culture could be a total flop in another. Hence why the copywriting world has created transcreation.

Writing articles

Online presence is necessary for a business. Having this online presence can be achieved through regular social media interaction and paid online campaigns or to regularly publish articles on your business’ website and contributing to other websites.

Writing regularly may not be somebody’s cup of tea. Or maybe you just don’t have the time to do it yourself, what with running a business and all. Enter copywriter. This is where we write informative, SEO-friendly, authoritative articles that stay in line with your brand’s tone-of-voice.
